Our team has explored complex social, economic, and technological phenomena through storytelling and data modeling. From examining global migration trends to advancing modeling and simulation (M&S) using cutting-edge technologies like NLP and AI, our past projects blend empirical research with compelling narratives to shed light on the stories shaping our world.

Explored how communities respond to the arrival to refugees and migrants. We considered three case studies : Lesvos, Greece; Barranquilla, Colombia; and Cape Town, South Africa

Project explored the role of disruptive technologies in M&S. Technologies explored were digital twins, big data, ML/AI, and quantum computing.

Community Health and Vaccine Hesitancy

Marginality and vulnerability are not universal terms. We are trying to identify the root, systemic drivers of low vaccine uptake in marginalized communities through community-based participatory modeling with regional community members, leaders, and experts, supplemented by understanding marginality and vulnerability in the current COVID-19 pandemic.

SIMULATION4CYBER

Cyber research incorporates more than just the computational aspects of resisting threat. In this project, we looked at social, political, and economic impacts and consequences of influence in the cyber domain. We rely on game theoretic and simulation models to illuminate the interrelations between human and cyber factors.
